You would be hard pressed to find, at least in this country, and I dare say in most countries, a person who does not know that fast food is bad for you; too much salt, fat, and cholesterol, without enough nutritious ingredients.  It has been said countless times that Americans have a fast food mentality.  We now, also, have fast food politics.

What does this mean?  People know that fast food is bad for them, but two things keep them eating it.  First, the marketing that gets into your mind from radio, television, billboards, and a host of other places, coupled with our inate ability to ignore that which we do not want to acknowledge.  A person gets hungry, and immediately McDonald’s comes to mind, due to the advertising they have observed.  They know that this food, if it can be called food, is bad for them, but they come up with excuses, such as “I am in a hurry”, or “it is just this one time”, even though they use these excuses every day.

The same attitude is prevelent in Politics, on both the side of the politician and on the side of the citizen.  Everyone wants the quickest fix, and will ignore the problem this time, or put off a real solution, that is hard to come by, to a later time.  This attitude, not a lack of government regulation, is the reason for the economic meltdown, and the reason that even if things are better for a year or two, they will bottom out again.

In times past, Americans took their politics seriously, and demanded a government that promoted freedom.  True freedom is a hard road, while the easy way to go is to let someone else make the decisions for you.  For freedom, you will have to climb mountains, descend into valleys, scale obstacles, fall and get up, and carry on through all types of environments.  Or you can take the easy lowland road where the government has cut the pass through the mountains and removed all obstacles.  The toll you pay to use the low road is your integrity, traded for the coins of servitude.

The only chance of stemming the tide of liberalism eroding this country is the mid-term elections that could swing congress to the right.  Thankfully, a lot of Obama voters are now, if a little late, realizing the falacy of the man and his plan.  Healthcare for everyone sounded good, until they found they would have to pay for it.  Reducing pollution sounded good until they found their electric bill would double, and extra taxes would have to be placed on fuels.

Fast food politics is taking us on a road to ruin.  Here are some points you should consider:

• The Green Movement.  There is no evidence, regardless of the hype, of manmade global warming.  In fact, about 2000 years ago, Greenland was green and the Vikings were colonizing it.  Temperatures averaged about 10 degrees F higher than now.  The Green Movement will never tell you this.  They will only say it is the warmest that it has been in the last century and a half.
• Junk Science.  H1N1 is no worse than the normal seasonal flu, and in most cases is not as bad.  The statistics that you read on H1N1 are out of context and skewed.  The number of people reported as going to hospitals for flu, are actually people with flu like symptoms.  Hospitals are assuming flu and treating for flu, regardless of the type of flu, or if it is just a bad cold.  However, this helps the government; remember, the stockpiled millions and millions of does of Tamiflu, to fight Avian Influenza, last year.  If they don’t use it for something, then it becomes a boondoggle.
• Healthcare.  The government cannot pay for healthcare with savings from other healthcare sources.  The entire system is designed to waste money, and our government is yet to bring in a major program at budget.  Liberal groups are already planning how they will get money from healthcare, primarily by beating the bushes and getting people into programs.  These community organizations get money to help people, and showing how many people they get to a doctor will make them look good.  The syste will be bogged down with low paying treatments that will put hospitals and doctors out of business.  This is the worst thought out legislation ever in American politics.  It is 2,000 pages of law that will be forced through without any meaningful discourse, because the Chief Jester demands it.
• Your Rights.  The second amendment is under a constant attack by the left.  They want you defenseless.  The current adminstration is even attacking the first amendment in unprecedented ways.  Even Cheney, who was a spook’s wet dream, never tried to bar new outlets that disagreed with him.
• EPA Regulating CO2.  An abuse of power if there ever was one.  This may be enough to wreck the economy without Cap and Trade or Worldwide agreements.
• World Carbon Agreements.  Let me get this straight.  Small countries that barely can exist, want us to limit our carbon to the extent that it will double or triple the cost of our products, while putting billions of dollars in a fund to give them money to build “green” industries.  If this is not a “redistribution of wealth” scheme, I have never seen one.  The little bastards want to ruin our economy, and build their own economy on our bones.  Here is how we can cut down on carbon.  Grow just enough food to feed Americans.  Don’t grow or ship food to the idiot nations.  We elliminate the carbon from growing and shipping the food, and if they all starve to death, that will just reduce the carbon output more.

All of these situations, along with our high taxes, and other problems, exist because of a fast food mentality about politics.  People want it all, and they want it now.  No discussion, no thought, no effort, just give us what we want.

All I want is to pay off my debt, get my name out of every system I can, and go off the grid, along with close to a million other people who have done the same.

The world is full of politicians and whores (anyone who sells themselves for a government favor or handout), and, as my favorite charachter said “The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout “Save us!”… and I’ll look down and whisper “No.” They had a choice, all of them. They could have followed in the footsteps of good men like my father or President Truman. Decent men who believed in a day’s work for a day’s pay. Instead they followed the droppings of lechers and communists and didn’t realize that the trail led over a precipice until it was too late. Don’t tell me they didn’t have a choice. Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody Hell, all those liberals and intellectuals and smooth-talkers… and all of a sudden nobody can think of anything to say.”  Rorschach, in Watchmen, if you are not familiar with the quote.  This is the comic book version, not the movie version, where they made it a little more palitable to liberals.

This is my last post.  I no longer care to worry over this.  Instead, I intend to spend the rest of my life working on things that interest me.  Saving you, is up to you.

People, you created this world, I hope you enjoy it.

Being a Christian nation means that our nation is founded on Christian principles.  Christian principles are based on the moral values found in the Christian Bible, which is comprised of some Jewish writings, and added to by the Christian church.  These moral principles are the foundation on which our legal system is built.

When the Ten Commandments are displayed in a public place, and this is objected to by someone who does not believe in Christianity, then the objector has a personal problem that they need to resolve.  The person who is objecting is seeing the Ten Commandments as a religious display, when in fact they are a historical display; the Ten Commandments, displayed in a public place, should be seen the same as the Magna Carta being displayed.  These writings are not a demand that you be a Christian, but a lesson in history, showing where our values were derived from.  The atheist should have no more concern over a courthouse displaying the Ten Commandments, purchased with public money, than they have with NASA spending public money on pictures of Mars, which is named after a god in the Roman Pantheon.

Many nations attribute their moral system to a particular religion; Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and many more, in which, thousands of years ago, a god handed down rules for the people to live by.  Each of these nations will have different rules, or different ways to enforce the rules, even when they are the same rules.  One society may imprison a person for theft, while another may cut off the thief’s hand.  Neither is fundamentally wrong, and the way to avoid the punishment is to not be a thief.  People are free to accept any set of rules, or change them if they do not like them.

What many Christian nations face today is an eroding of the legal system by other religious groups that wish to change the basis of our legal system.  In particular, many Muslims desire to establish Sharia Law in Christian countries.  Because of their belief they feel they should be able to have the legal system operate the way their religion dictates.  A number of European countries are dealing with this now, as Sharia courts handle disputes between Muslims, outside of the countries legal system.

This type of separate legal system cannot be tolerated; it undermines the very fabric of our civilization.  If a Sharia court enforces a punishment of beating someone, then those who gave the punishment, and those who carried it out, must be prosecuted under our judicial system; to do anything else is to condone a separate government in our country.

Quite frankly, there are countries that operate on Sharia Law; if a person desires to live under this type of system, they should immigrate to one of these countries.  If you wish to live under a legal system that is based on Islam, rather than Christianity, then move to Saudi Arabia.  If you wish to remain in the United States, then you may worship as you please, but you must be subject to our Christian principle based legal system.

I believe we have been a little too tolerant of this type of seditious behaviour!  We have radical Imams teaching that killing Americans is honorable; imprison them, or kick them out of our country.  This type of behaviour is outside the bounds of religious freedom.  When radical Muslims speak of killing Jews, the world is distraught; when these same people speak of killing Americans, we are told to be tolerant.

If you are going to live in the United States, then abide by our rules.  If you cannot abide by our rules, leave.

That was the last; fanatical muslims have been affecting our security and our politics, which is to be expected, since they are a threat to this country.  Now, the military is too politically correct to investigate Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who, regardless of Obama’s squeamishness, is a terrorist, and even our movies are vetted to ensure that nothing in them could offend a Muslim.

Muslims, like Christians, come in many types, from the ones who only observe the holiest of days, to the fanatics who bomb and kill for their cause. 

Whether a person is a white Christian who firebombs a black church, or a Muslim who yells “Allah Akbar” while killing soldiers at a military base, the person who commits these atrocities is a terrorist, and should be treated as a terrorist.  At the very least Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan should be charged with hate crimes.

I really don’t care if he was having psychological problems.  Psychological problems exist, and cause people to do things they should not, but that is not an excuse for committing an act of terrorism.

It is time for the American people, including Muslims who condemn such actions, to stand up and tell our President and Congress that we will not accept a politically correct stance on terrorists.  We really need the Muslims of this country to stand up and do more than condemn the action; we need them to demand that these Muslim fanatics be treated as the criminals that they are.

Here are some ideas on how to treat them:

• These fanatics, such as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, or the mastermind(s) of 9/11, are criminals, except to the other fanatics.  Treat them as criminals.
• The only clothing they get to wear are prison clothes; no exceptions.  A Christian in prison does not get a suit to wear to the chapel on Sunday, these guys don’t get to dress in their traditional garb.
• If they choose to stop eating, let them die.  That is there choice.
• Do not allow the news media to interview them, or take pictures of them.  They are murderers in maximum security prisons.  They go thorough the process that we deem is correct.
• Trials are closed to the media, and they go in and out of the court without any view or contact with the media or anyone else.
• Any country that tells us how to deal with them, is welcome to take them, if that country is not a supporter of terrorism.
• Stop treating these people as if they are something special.  They gave up their right to have us view them as anything other than criminals when they committed a terrorist act.
• Stop worrying about what their friends will do.
• Marginalize all of these people by refusing to allow them to be in the media, or do anything that will allow their followers to rally to them.  Stop making martyrs out of them.
• Try them, and carry out the punishment as if they are any other criminal.

As long as we are afraid of terrorists, then they have won!

I have been forced into slavery.

I am a slave.

In the first statement, a person who has been forced into some form of servitude recognizes that it is only by the force administered by others that they remain a slave, while in the second statement the person has accepted the lot of a slave to be theirs.

There are many ways that a person can be forced into slavery, but all forms of slavery demand that the law support the slavers, while giving minimum rights to the slave.  There is little difference between a law that forces one ethnic group to be the slaves of another, and a law that forces a cross-section of the population to be a slave to another.  All forms of slavery require a master, and must also have the guise of legality, to be successful.  All forms of slavery require either force to maintain the slaves, or the total capitulation of the enslaved.

In the United States there are, today, few people who are “slaves” in the traditional sense, though occasionally we hear of law enforcement finding some person or persons with, usually, illegal immigrants, that are working without pay, and under the threat of expulsion.  Every population has a certain percentage of people, usually small, that will want to “own” slaves, and a small percentage of people with such weak character that they would prefer being slaves, than making their own decisions and taking their own chances.  In both groups there are those who want these things to varying degrees.  As hard as it is to believe, there are people who want to be slaves.  As Benjamin Franklin so famously said, “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”  What does this say of those demanding ever higher levels of security in our nation, today?

Though most of us today, in the United States, enjoy some level of physical freedom, we can never be free when the mind and emotions are enslaved.  Having the right to speak is of little value, when every effort is made to control what we think and feel.  The whips and chains of today’s slaver is fear and guilt.  Fear that we will cross a line and lose what little physical freedom we have; guilt to make us perform in the manner that is required.  Fear to beat us into line and guilt to bind us to the slaver’s power.

To recognize the first items, consider what you do, that you would not do, should there not be law enforcement agents ready to arrest or shoot you.  Would you pay the exorbitant level of taxes that you pay?  To recognize the second, look at what actions you take because you feel guilty.  Would you allow a welfare state to exist if you did not feel guilty about abandoning “the children”?

Any time that a politician speaks of “mobilizing the base”, as in the Democrat or Republican parties needed all their members to go out and vote, you may be assured that you are their slave.  You are either being forced, or guilted, into taking action.  (If guilted is not a word, it should be!)

Action on the part of a free man, is action decided upon independently.  Any action takin due to fear or guilt is slavery. 

The solution to this problem is simple.  Here are some easy rules to get you on the path to freedom, and move this whole country, one person at a time, towards freedom:

• It is your money that you have earned, and you can donate to anyone you want, but choose not to donate to anyone who tries to make you feel guilty.  If it is “for the children”, tell them “no”.
• When your political party contacts you and asks for your assistance in a poll, etc., contact them and demand that they explain the issue and why they need your support.  Do not act until you are satisfied that you action is in line with your beliefs.
• Take every opportunity to vote for smaller government, less taxes, fewer politicians, etc.  The more there are, the greater your servitude.
• Pick your leaders carefully.  Any who want to give or take from the masses should be voted out.  Only those who will allow you the freedom to choose your own way should be allowed in office.
• Never vote for a person who does not seem to sincerely believe that the government of this country is the people.  Any politician who wants larger government, more agencies, greater programs for more people, are a slaver.

Start thinking for yourself.  Slavers depend on you accepting and not questioning their demands.  The surest way to end political slavery and tyranny is to begin to believe you are free and to question your leaders.

How many times have you heard a child, or teenager, ask for something from their parents, and when told that they cannot have it, they act as if it is due them?  These children have not yet formed an understanding of responsibility, nor do they yet understand that money must be earned by someone, and that to earn it, a person must trade the hours of their life for the money.

Liberals, like these children, have no concept of earning money.  Money just is.  Just as a five year old may answer the question “how much money are you going to make when you are grown?” with an answer of “a billion dollars”, so a liberal has no concept of what a billion dollars really is.  They never think that this money is a part of people’s lives; they never thing that a billion dollars of tax money represents one hundred million (100,000,000) man hours of work at $10 per hour.  If the average person, who is working, works the 2,080 hours of a normal work year, then that requires 92,593 people working a full year to provide the money.

So what is the cost of the current administrations healthcare plan?  The one trillion dollars is 1,000 times more than a billion dollars.  To get the one trillion in one year, you would need about 93 million people working full time, and giving everything they make to the government to have this much money.  Since this is the price tag for ten years, divide that by ten, and you need the full salaries of 9.3 million people, at $10 per hour, to pay for the healthcare plan.

Liberals say we can afford this.  It is so obvious that liberals are adult bodies, with five year old minds, that cannot grasp the concept of “making money”, and believe that the above cost is justified by their claims of helping people.  I am sure you have heard the liberal cry of “it’s government money”.  Yet again, the liberal shows that they have no concept of how the government gets money.  They must think it grows on trees!  Not a one seems to recognize the number of people who will have to work that much more and that much harder to pay for their agenda.  We are talking 183 million people, half our population, making $10 per hour, and giving 20% of their paycheck to the government, to pay for “ObamaCare” (actually Pelosi’s version).

Along with the fact that liberals don’t recognize that a group of people have to kill themselves by working more to pay for their plans, they also have no clue what has the most value in a society.  Liberals will get all up in arms over a fish or a frog that is endangered, but the greatest resource this country has, working men and women, who create businesses, or keep businesses running, are totally forgotten in their stampede to stop any progress that might cause the slightest damage to the environment.  While the liberals stuff their mouths with food and drink, they try to make it impossible to grow food or pump water.  They would have us believe that we can feed hundreds of millions of people with the food grown on communes, that can barely support their own populations.  Even worse are the African nations that are screaming for us to reduce greenhouse gases, while they live off of the food we grow and export, with our farming practices.  It never occurs to the idiot liberals that if we gave in to their policies, they would soon starve to death.

The fault for this, however, lies with conservatives.  We have tolerated liberals eating the food we grow on farms, wearing the clothes we produce in factories, driving the cars that are made in plants, and living in their houses made of materials that are either wood or chemicals mined from the ground.  We should have forced them to go live in a mud hut, and scratch out a living in the soil until they could appreciate those who provided the good things in life.

We, the conservatives, should not be tolerant of liberals.  I am not, in any way  class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”way “>advocting violence against them.  We should treat them like five year olds who have suddenly come down stairs, after being put to bed, and have tried to join into adult conversations. 

Understand that most liberals will not be able to understand what you say to them.  Like a five year old, due to their limited rational experience, they will think their ideas make perfect sense, and that you are being stuffy and stuck up when you tell them they are wrong.  Always remember, when dealing with a liberal, that you are dealing with a person suffering from arrested development.  Think of a 16 year old, having the temper tantrum of a 3 year old, and you will see how unseemly the liberal mind is.  If you will remember this, you will have the ammunition to deal with the liberals who want to redistribute wealth, save the planet for the animals, do away with copyrights so everything can be owned by the public, and all of their other agendas.

Here are some simple tips for dealing with liberals:

• When they begin pontificating on their favorite liberal agenda, smile condescendingly, and pat them on the head, and say “You are such a little darling; just so cute!”  I am not kidding; do it.  They are acting like a five year old trying to explain to adults why there should be free cookies for everyone, all the time, so treat them that way.  Logic will not work; they are operating with only an emotional base.  Let them know they are cute little kids and you are being understanding of their strange little kiddie ideas.
• Do not argue with them.  Logic will accomplish nothing when you are talking with someone who is operating with only an emotional base.  Arguing with them will just convince them that the issue is arguable; it is not.  Arguing with idiocy only lends credence to the idiocy.
• Do not invite them to your parties, outings, or dinners.  Ostracize them.  Do not let them socialize with you.  Treat them as children who should not be up that late with the adults; treat them as their mental age, not their physical age.  Also, it is wrong for people who want to take your money and redistribute it to the poor, thereby making you poor, to come over to your house and enjoy the fruits of your labors.
• Refuse to give to their causes.  If you want to help someone, that you feel deserves it, by all means do so, out of your pocket.  Do not give your money to a liberal to promote their programs.  They will then tell the world all the money they have collected, in an effort to justify their useless existence.  You will inadvertently promote them.
• If you go to a meeting, or any gathering, do not be ashamed to stand up and say that you disagree with the liberal who is speaking.  Feel free to leave.  Just smile and say you have already graduated from kindergarten.
• Contact your congressmen and your president and tell them that if they are going to steal your money and redistribute it to the poor, you are going to pay off all your debt and then take a minimum wage job.  Remember, it is your money that fuels their liberal agenda.  Make it clear that you would rather be poor man than a rich man that gets robbed every day.

Logic, arguments, reasoning, and teaching do not help liberals.  Maybe we can shame them into acting like conservatives, if nothing else.

 I have a limited amount of time to live; I don’t know how long, but hopefully many years.  Because life is limited, every moment is precious, and we are told this repeatedly, even by those who do not value our life or theirs.  Given that I have a limited amount of precious time, I want to accomplish certain things while I am alive.  I set out to accomplish these things, with the following results:

Scenario 1:  I work an average of one third of my time.  I do the absolute best that I can in my job.  I expect to be rewarded for this, and I want to get the most that I can in exchange for my work.  Since I have traded my time to my employer, for money, I want to spend that money on things that I want in life, so that I am, in effect, trading parts of my life for the things that I want; food, clothing, shelter, amusement, entertainment, hobbies, etc.  I want the absolute most of these things I can get for my money; if not, I will stop the trade, and spend my time doing things that I want instead.  It is my life and I want to get the most value out of it, and out of the parts that I trade to others.

Scenario 2:  I work an average of one third of my time.  I do the absolute best that I can in my job.  I receive my paycheck, in exchange for the time and effort that I put into the work, less 25% in taxes, and, on top of that, everything I spend my money on will require me to pay a minimum of 7% taxes, and much more in hidden taxes.  When it is all said and done, about 40% of my money will go to taxes.  This money will be used, in part, to pay for food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and education, for those who choose not to exchange their time for money.  I will spend a third of my life working.  Out of every 60 minutes that I work, 24 minutes will be to support someone else.

The first scenario is rational.  It is what a rational person expects.  The second scenario is irrational.  No rational person would wake up one day, and say “I want the money from 24% of the time that I work to be taken and used for what I do not get.  I want to spend this part of my life supporting others.”

Yet, 24% of my money is stolen by the government, at gunpoint.  What, you say?  Stolen at gunpoint?  Think about it; if law enforcement agents would not show up at your home and arrest you at gunpoint, and shoot you if you fought back, how much taxes would you pay?  Mine would be zero, therefore, all the taxes that I pay are extracted from me at the point of a gun.

The sad part is that the irrational concept of taxation has been proclaimed by idiots to be rational for so long, that the general population believes that taxes are normal.  People even say “There are only two things for certain; death and taxes”.

Both the general population and the government need to realize that taxes, and other irrational behaviours, are not to be accepted.  Everyone should view taxes as a portion of their life taken from them, that they can never get back.

We need to come to believe the following:

• Do not believe anything you are told by your government.  Look at it yourself and determine if what you are being told is rational.
• Insist that irrational behaviour be eliminated in every area of your life.
• Insist on proof for anything that is presented as a fact, especially by a politician.
• Stop looking at life from the standpoint of the sorriest in our society, and begin looking at it from your own viewpoint.  Attempting to see life from the viewpoint of another is the first irrational act of a society that is declining.
• Understand that anything that helps another, at your forced expense, is irrational.

A rational society will do what is best for the individual; an irrational society will eventually destroy everything in it.  Our society can be rational, but only if each of us are.

Ethics are a general, over-all way of life.  I think of ethics as a “framework” in which we develop our personal moral code.  Our moral code may be based on religion, family taught values, or any number of other methods of input.  We are born with integrity that attempts to ensure that we develop a code that is self-consistent, and protects us, while treating others ethically.  The loss of integrity, in so many people, is due to a conflict between societal born morals and the individual’s base integrity; another way of saying this is to state that an insane response is the only response to an insane world.  Unfortunately, for the individual concerned, the insane response is diametrically opposed to the individual’s integrity, though this is a discussion for another time.

The concern I want to bring to the attention of my readers, at this time, is how moral codes are being developed in today’s youth.

Two things become apparent in looking at the creation of a moral code in today’s society:  the individual’s moral code is created by what they are taught, and this moral code can either enhance or detract from their integrity.

Much has been said about movies, television, and video games de-sensitizing children to violence.  I do not believe this is the case, as most children recognize what is fiction and what is real.  However, it is easier for a child to recognize that the violence in a Road Runner cartoon is fictional, than in a drama designed for adults.  I have come to the conclusion that it is not the de-sensitizing that is the issue, but the creation of the moral code.  As I grew up, I was presented with “wholesome” programming that would help develop a moral code that was considered ethical.  The violence in programs, such as Gunsmoke, always clearly depicted the bad guys as wrong, and the good guys always won; truth and justice were depicted as desirable traits.  If you remember a program named “The Rifleman” you know what I am speaking of.

Today’s children are getting much too large of a dose of violence, in which the bad guys are presented as the good guys.  It is impossible for a child to play a video game where stealing cars is the object of the game, or watch television where the criminal is the hero, or listen to music that promotes hatred and violence, without absorbing some of this into their moral code.  Marshall Dillon would have put most of today’s “heros” in jail!

After absorbing this type of behaviour, and having it become part of their moral code, today’s children find that their moral code is now in conflict with their integrity, and their integrity will almost always lose out in this struggle, for the moral code allows for actions that are based on emotions, especially how, or how far, we go to achieve our desires.

It is necessary that we have a proper moral code for ourselves.  This does not have to come from religion, but it does need to clearly define right and wrong.  To this end, I recommend the following:

• Limit children’s exposure to violence in media.  Make use of the ratings system, but at the same time, be aware of your child’s development, and what is proper for them.
• Talk with your children about what is right and wrong.  Don’t just tell them it is wrong, but explain, or show, why it is wrong, so that the information correlates with other information.
• Take an active interest in what your children are exposed to at school.  Develop a strong relationship with the care providers, teachers, and administrators at the school.  Never be afraid to oppose what you feel your child should not have or be involved in.
• Find wholesome activities that will promote morality.  This can be religious or civic.  Groups such as the Boy/Girl Scouts are a great way for children to learn moral behaviour.

Somebody is going to be teaching your children what is right and what is wrong, and these teachings will become part of a moral code.  An improper moral code will lead to, at best, a neurotic individual, who is suffering from arrested development, due to the conflicts between integrity and morals, and at worst, a criminal who has lost their integrity.

The goal of each generation should be to produce a new generation that is as good, or better, than the previous; not to let each generation become less.

What is needed today is not more analyzation; in fact, the over-analyzation of “the news” today is one of the problems that we face.  As every dictator in history has discovered, the way to conquer is to divide the population.  Small interest groups are easier to control and manipulate, where large groups of people are harder to sway.  There are so many people saying so much about everything, that nothing is important.  There are so many opinions that every person almost has a personal pundit.  Nothing is accomplished by the people because there are a million different opinions.  If our population would stop analyzing everything, they would know in their hearts what is right and wrong.

To this end, I will write:  to speak to others what is right and wrong.

The current debate over health care is the most ridiculous situation that I have yet seen our government become involved in.  They keep comparing our medical care to that of other countries.  Today, I will tell you what is wrong with our healthcare system, and some simple steps to resolve the whole issue.

First, the problem with our healthcare is that people do not take responsibility for their own health and healthcare.  The attitude in this country is that a person can eat grease and sugar, smoke, drink, and refuse to exercise, and their insurance will pay a doctor to “fix them up”.  When a doctor continually treats a person for disease or health issues brought on by their destructive lifestyle, the doctor becomes little more than hospice care.  If your blood pressure is high from eating, drinking, and not exercising, and your doctor is treating you with ongoing medication, he is doing nothing but helping a dying person live a little longer, just as a hospice would take in a person dying of AIDS and do what they can for them, until the inevitable end.  I hear people speak of “quality of life”.  These people say that their quality of life is better because of the drugs.  It seems that they are saying a “quality life” is to sit on their butt, watching TV, and eating cake.  If quality life, for them, involved anything with exercise they might would not need the drugs!

So, what are some simple things that can change this?  First, every person has to become responsible for their own health and healthcare, and here are some simple things to do.

• Maintain a copy of all of your medical records, including x-rays, scans, test results, prescriptions and bills.  When you see a doctor, take your own records.  If everyone will do this, we can do away with many mistakes, and not have our government spend billions on a national healthcare database.  Your records are your responsibility, not the doctor’s or the government’s.
• Insist that your doctor explain the diagnosis and treatment, give you options, pros and cons, and then, make your own decision.  Do not accept a treatment simply because that is what a drug company is pushing on the doctor at the time.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not taking drugs that will interact badly, and that you are not taking trial drugs, unless you choose to.
• Every person who goes in for a treatment or surgery should have an advocate with them, that is not a part of the medical community.  That advocate will be in with them for the treatment, and even in the surgical room during procedures.  If students and medical salespeople can be in surgery, a patient advocate certainly can be.  It will be this person’s responsibility, whether they are paid, or just a friend, to ensure that the correct procedure is performed, on the correct body part, and that the doctor is sober, etc.  This will result in you taking responsibility, through your advocate, for what is performed on you, and reduce incorrect procedures, sponges being left in patients, and a host of other things, since the advocate’s focus is on the patient, not the procedure.
• Do away, completely, with malpractice insurance and malpractice suits.  It becomes the responsibility of the patient, and the patient’s advocate, to ensure the quality of the medical care and procedures.

I am sure that there are other changes that can be made, all of which will cause each person to take responsibility for their own healthcare.

Healthcare is so expensive because we have put the responsibility for our health on our healthcare providers.  Now, as this has become more expensive, this country is looking to move that responsibility from the doctor, and move it to the government.  What we need to do is take the responsibility for ourselves, on ourselves.

As you move into your Presidency, and begin the process of taking control of our government and instituting your policies, it is my sincerest wish that you remember that freedom trumps all other considerations.  Over the last eight years we Americans have been told repeatedly that security is more important than freedom.  It is necessary to point out that a free society can be secure, while a secure society can never be free.  A free society can be secure when its members work towards the goal of ensuring their freedoms against those who wish to undermine the fabric of their civilization.  However, a society that has legislated security will have to give up rights to be secure.

I am reminded of, and would like to point out, a line from John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address: “And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe – the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God”.  JFK recognized that many places around the world still believed that a person’s rights were granted by the state, where, in truth, these rights are God-given, or unalienable.  This idea was framed in the Declaration of Independence, which states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,…”.

Over the last eight years your predecessor took steps to make this country one where the rights of man were granted by the generosity of the state.  Yet in the face of this restriction on Liberty, the American people spoke and elected our first African-American president; an act that only a few decades ago would have been inconceivable.  Your election, in and of itself, shines a light on the above quoted passage from the Declaration of Independence.

As you begin your Presidency you will be besieged by those who wish to convince you to place their agenda above the liberty and rights of the individual.  To ensure that this does not happen, it is necessary to enumerate those items that man should not transgress.   A humble man will understand that simply being elected does not give him the right to trample the rights of the people, but rather, in accepting the will of the people, becomes the champion of Liberty, and the embodiment of the desire of the people to be free and to not be punished for acting on their God given rights.

Human beings are granted by God the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.  The right to freely speak, to freely travel, to defend ourselves, families, and property against the criminal element, to work to obtain that which will make us content in life, and to not be treated as serfs or slaves by our government are foremost.

Two types of abuse of Liberty will appear before you, each with its own siren song of potential.  The first will be those who claim “national security” while the second claim it is for “the betterment of the people and, especially, the children”.  When these phrases present themselves in conversation, turn a deaf ear to those who speak, for they are after nothing more than reducing Liberty to further their own agendas.

As you navigate the maze of politics in Washington, the one clear, shining light to follow is the pursuit of personal and national liberty.  We the people have charged you with ensuring that the state does not attempt to usurp our God given rights.  We depend on you to ensure that we can speak and act freely, own the weapons to defend ourselves, worship as we please, and to act as we see fit, in that we do not transgress the rights of others.  We also depend on you to ensure that our government and various international organizations do not usurp the rights given by God and enumerated in the Constitution.  Such organisations as the United Nations, in their attempts to ban personally owned weapons, violate our very Liberty.

Such groups are controlled by peoples envious of our freedoms, who crave power of their own.  Those who would take our Liberty, give not Liberty to their own peoples.  One has to look no further than the success of this great nation to understand that the policies of those poorer in spirit would do no more than bring us down to their level of poverty, both spiritual and physical, while claiming that the defilement of Liberty is, in fact, to the benefit of the people.  Such leaders will not rest until every person has not Liberty, and, instead, is brought down to the level of serfdom obtainable only outside a free society.

Each request that you receive, in and of itself, may seem to be helpful; we the people have charged you to ensure that these requests met bolster our liberties, rather than diminish them.

We the people ask that you enhance our society by providing every liberty, granting that the rights of man are God given and not to be hindered by the state, and that you lead this country showing it as a shining light of freedom to those oppressed.
